WHY SHOULD YOU ADVERTISE ON THIS PAGE?

WHY SHOULD YOU ADVERTISE ON THIS PAGE? LAST UPDATED: 08/11/2005

Because it is fun, because it is fresh, because it is different from the conventional advertising methods. Like I said on my ABOUT ME page I copied the idea from Alex Tew.

Alex is getting tons of traffic from his page (CLICK HERE to see his page),  in turn each advertisers get their share of his traffic. Why does he get all this traffic, I guess partly because he is the original and his concept his audacious.  But there is another reason I could think of why?, I think there is a kind of " hypnotic element" in looking at that pixel table, there is curiosity as well, there is discovery , "hey who's that little square" and click.  Nowadays we use search engine to search what we are looking for, but nevertheless I think from time to time it is good to have it all feed to us in an a "chaotic way" and just get a website at random but still have the choice which is different from pop up window where you have no choice but a single ad, hey here is an idea what about a popup pixel, anyway, I think this is what this is all about, when you are bored, just click anywhere and you will get something, it might not be what you were after, but who cares, sounds like "Forest Gump" to me.  I like the concept, and I have news for you, I am not alone. Now the big question before you fork out AU$10 per 10x10 block, will I get traffic...honestly, I am not going to say you will get tons of traffic, your sales will skyrocket overnight, and in the next 10 days you will be having dinner with Bill Gate in company of Paris Hilton, discussing your money, and what are the new features of the latest Learjet, and if it is worth the millions it retails for while rubbing your hand on Paris left leg under the table while Bill is doing the same on the other leg (And you thought she was with you). Equally for the  gals I cannot honestly say you will be able to get enough money from your advertising to pay George ( Clooney ) or Brad ( Pitt ) to come and spend a wild holiday with you on a desert island along with a bed and a few cases of Champagne. But give it a go, my mission is to make this site the standard for Australia, a place where Australian can come and look for services offered by their fellow mates or anybody that can offer them something from around the world, equally I like to make it a place for the world to come and get something from Australia. I do not want to sound discriminative, but I would only like to limit this site to  advertisers who can supply their goods or services to Australians (Of course any site that share information is welcome,  EG: if you are from Germany and would like to advertise your home brewing site, no problem, we like beer Down Under), but if  you intend to sell ice to the Eskimos only,  please see the www.millioncanadiandollarhomepage.com , as much I would love your cash, I have to follow my own rules. To seriously  talk about the traffic you could get, at the end of the day this concept from Alex Tew is really something, if you are all alone on the pixel table then all the traffic is obviously channeled to you, if you are a few hundreds then people get curious and visit the site, talk about it and then we get even more traffic, so really you still get your fair share of traffic, okay if you only have a square you might wonder, but  people are still curious and you will get your hit, it is all relative, it is all positive. The more advertisers I get, the more traffic I get, the more traffic you get, the less advertisers I get, the more traffic is channeled to your site. It sounds like a bloody win-win situation to me. I will leave the site on, for 5 years, and more likely even more (So your $10 bucks are largely justified), depends of how many advertisers I get,  it is only a question of renewing the domain name and paying for hosting, which will not cost 1000's to leave it a bit more that 5 years. Some money will be donated to charity see the THE GOOD CAUSE (Charity) page, some will also go towards advertising this site as well on the internet. But if you are from the media, it does not hurt getting some attention from you, you might want to write a little on article on this site, it is all good, if you are from the TV, yeah right I better stop here. I am not surprised, It is not over yet, when you read my ABOUT ME you will understand why I talk a lot, I have a few other reasons on why you should advertise on this page, just think as putting yourself  in an exclusive environment, after all Alex's motto is "Own a piece of Internet history", why shouldn't I say "Own a piece of the Australian's Internet history", anyway think of it as going to the movie as well, first clients get the good sits, plus if you are smart you can even make some money out of it, just lease a few blocks of pixels and rent them out, you will have to take care of the redirection though as I only point to your site and the image cannot be changed over and over, but it is then up to you where to direct the traffic, lease 4 squares (Or more) for $400 and rent them out for $20 a month (That make $80/month), some people might just want to try out so they will come to you, there is a good example of someone renting space on Alex's page. There is one last reason, it is all in the name, I think at some stage, some people are going to get curious and just insert Australian in between million dollar, just to check if an idiot thought of it, and yes obviously. I think these are all the reasons I can give you for now, so I hope you will embrace the concept. Also thinking about it, if you look at Alex page, well if you are from my generation, there is something very 80's about it, don't you think, that alone is attractive, and as well people like to keep their eyes on the money you are making, so they will come gain to see how you are doing, and they will click your square at some stage, is just a matter of time. Geez, I lost myself writing this chapter, never mind it is chaotic...but

Hoping you will join me on this project in the (Very, very, very) near future, I might as well say today...for the fun of it, and please keep coming back, even if you do not plan to advertise, it helps my stats and convince people to advertise here.
